Privacy Policy

TaxMetra ("we", "us") runs taxmetra.com. Set out below is what we do with information and what you can choose. In one line: the income and filing details you enter are handled inside the browser and never leave your device.
Which tool this covers
The tool this page covers is TaxMetra, an income tax and take-home pay calculator. Put simply, it estimates income tax and net pay for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Germany, showing brackets, deductions, refund and per-paycheck net, and the way it does so is this: it applies each country's progressive brackets to taxable income after the standard deduction, then divides the annual figure by the number of pay periods, which is why the per-paycheck number changes when you change the pay frequency. Everything stated here applies to that tool and the values it handles, and to nothing else.
In day-to-day use the tool works only from the income and filing details you enter, and it is usually opened for things like checking take-home pay after a raise. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.
Data you give the tool
Every result here is produced by JavaScript running in your browser. Your inputs are used only to render the answer on the page: they are not transmitted to a server, stored, sold, or shared. The calculation needs nothing beyond what is already on the page — it simply applies each country's progressive brackets to taxable income after the standard deduction.
Rights you can exercise
Privacy law in some regions gives you the right to see, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data held about you. In practice we hold almost nothing tied to you, since calculator input never reaches us, but any request you make will be taken seriously.
Updates to this page
If the way we handle data ever changes, this page will be revised and the date at the top adjusted accordingly. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
What is collected automatically
Our host and any analytics we run record routine request data — the kind every web server sees, such as IP address, user agent, referrer and which pages were opened. That data serves maintenance and abuse prevention; it is never combined with the values you enter.
How cookies and adverts work here
We set a cookie only to remember whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can control personalized advertising in your browser settings or through Google's ad settings. Blocking cookies does not affect the tool: the calculation requires none.
Analytics and aggregate statistics
We watch which of the TaxMetra tools get used, in aggregate, so that effort goes where it is useful. That is the extent of it — no individual profile, and no analytics event ever includes the values you entered.
Amounts, rates and balances
Amounts, interest rates, balances and income figures are treated as ordinary input. They are used only to produce the answer on screen; they are never logged, transmitted or shared, and closing the tab discards them.
Security and data retention
Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.
Children's privacy
The site is not designed for, or marketed to, children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
