About TaxMetra

TaxMetra does exactly one job: estimates income tax and net pay for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Germany, showing brackets, deductions, refund and per-paycheck net. That is the whole of the site. No account, no newsletter, and no wall between you and the number you came for.

What TaxMetra is for

Search for personal-finance tools and you will mostly find pages that bury a single calculation under cookie walls, newsletter modals and three paragraphs of filler. We built TaxMetra as the opposite: one focused tool that estimates income tax and net pay for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Germany, showing brackets, deductions, refund and per-paycheck net, and nothing between you and the answer. Keeping it that narrow is what makes it fast, and what makes it honest about how the result is produced.

How the maths is done

There is no server in the loop at all. It applies each country's progressive brackets to taxable income after the standard deduction, then divides the annual figure by the number of pay periods, which is why the per-paycheck number changes when you change the pay frequency, and that description is the real algorithm rather than a simplification of it, so you can repeat the sum by hand and compare the two.

Privacy by default

Your input stays local: the income and filing details you enter are handled entirely by the page and never leave your device. You can turn off your connection after loading and the tool still works, which is the simplest proof that nothing is being sent.

Who this is for

How this stays free

TaxMetra is free to use and supported by advertising. Adverts are kept off the working part of the page, and no advertiser receives anything you type. If a page ever becomes slow or intrusive, that is a bug worth reporting.
